US and coalition forces were attacked 10 times on the Iraqi territory and 3 times on the Syrian territory between 17 and 24 October.
This was stated during a regular briefing for journalists by US Defense Department spokesman Patrick Ryder.
In addition, according to the US military’s Central Command, more than 20 US military personnel have been injured during those shellings.
Earlier, Shiite fighters demanded that the US withdraw its troops from Iraq and other countries in the Middle East.
The statement emphasized that “US troops must leave the region immediately, otherwise their bases will be attacked constantly”.
