{"id":2598,"date":"2023-05-16T16:21:29","date_gmt":"2023-05-16T14:21:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.dhcab.com\/?p=2598"},"modified":"2023-05-16T16:21:29","modified_gmt":"2023-05-16T14:21:29","slug":"is-war-for-taiwan-coming","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.dhcab.com\/?p=2598","title":{"rendered":"Is war for Taiwan coming?"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"postie-post\">\n<div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Warren Buffett sells billions in Taiwan stock, US Senator bets against \u2013 is war for Taiwan coming?<\/p>\n<p>Warren Buffett, the 92-year-old head of Berkshire Hathaway, dumped a $4.1 billion stake in Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing (TSMC) in less than a quarter &#8220;in part owing to the risk of war in the island nation,&#8221; Forbes reported. <\/p>\n<p>Yet the legendary investor himself explained the decision because &#8220;I don&#8217;t like its location, and I&#8217;ve reevaluated that.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I feel better about the capital that we&#8217;ve got deployed in Japan than in Taiwan.&#8221; the billionaire added. &#8220;I wish it weren&#8217;t sold, but I think that&#8217;s a reality.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, Republican Senator from Alabama Tommy Tuberville has reportedly purchased put orders on the stock, betting that TSMC stock will drop soon, according to Quiver Quantitative.<\/p>\n<p>With &#8220;The Oracle of Omaha&#8221; selling all of his TSMC stock and the US Senator buying puts on it, many are already starting to wonder if a war is about to break out. <\/p>\n<p>Analysts expect that just a single missile strike on TSMC&#8217;s most advanced chip fabrication facility could easily cause hundreds of billions of dollars of damage to the global economy.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, four-star General Mike Minihan also warned on NBC News in January that &#8220;my gut tells me [we] will fight in 2025.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The writing seems to be on the wall.<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Warren Buffett sells billions in Taiwan stock, US Senator bets against \u2013 is war for Taiwan coming?
